We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Abbey Hotel on the 10th September 2021. I can't recommend them enough. A massive thank you to the Abbey and our wedding co-ordinator Lisa who made our day everything we had wanted and more. Every detail of the day was absolutely perfect, Lisa was fantastic she made sure that all our request were taken care off even with all the restrictions the minute we walked into the ballroom for our ceremony it was beautiful so magical as our kids said it’s like a fairytale so beautiful. We were so relaxed for the whole day Lisa had done so much we had no worries the way they transformed the ballroom after the ceremony for our reception dinner was outstanding you wouldn't thinking it was the same room it was fabulous. Our meal was top class everyone really enjoyed it and are still talking about the food and civil ceremony from start to finish the staff were brilliant. I would highly recommend the Abbey Hotel for future couples. Thanks so much for making our wedding day so special xx

Our fairy-tale wedding finally came through……Myself and my husband got married on Friday the 19th of November 2021 in the Abbey Hotel Roscommon, we had our ceremony in the hotel which made the morning so relaxed as hair and makeup arrived to look after us all. Our celebrant Tara Carroll from Spiritual ceremonies Ireland was just brilliant. Being the wedding co ordinator for the Abbey Hotel I just love everything about it. when it came to choosing our own venue with a short lead time, there was nowhere else we would have chosen, purely because we knew with the guests we had attending we would not have to worry one bit about food and service on the day. We had the flowers in our package and they were done by Signature flowers in Roscommon town run by Anne Harlowe, they were absolutely stunning and she brought them to the hotel on the morning of the wedding, it was all effortless and ran so smoothly. Our cake was a display cake and we had a selection of gorgeous cupcakes created perfectly by our chef Alison, then we had the most amazing chocolate biscuit cake from Cakes by Una Flynn, she is one of our cake suppliers in our packages. Our ballroom décor was a mixture of the hotels centrepieces with additions from the florists and also Fiona Newell events and ‘I do candle lighting’ both incredible wedding event company’s we have had the pleasure of working with. The ballroom was just what we wanted, it far exceeded our expectations. The food on the day…what can we say. It was the best food we have ever had at a wedding…we decided to put a lot more of our budget into the meal and the arrivals reception which paid off, for our meal we wanted it to be top class in terms of taste and presentation and it was just that. Lisa was lovely to deal with from day one. The ceremony and dinner reception in the Fortfield Suite was set up beautifully for a smaller wedding that it did not feel like it was a small wedding at any point of the day. The food was a complete hit with our guests, it was absolutely delicious. Jacinta and the function room staff could not have been be more accommodating on the day ensuring all guests including ourselves were being well looked after at the meal. This was a very important part of what we wanted on the day. The hotel itself is like our very own Downton Abbey where we definitely felt like Lord and Lady of the manor, Elegant, classy with a beautiful feel of homeliness, fires lighting lanterns on the stairs... it was all perfect. On a personal level we can’t thank the staff and the owners enough for what they did for us. I have never felt prouder on the run up of our day to the day itself. All staff members were so kind and all very excited about the day. All of our guests have commented on how friendly and attentive all of the staff were on the day and night. From choosing our menu to the detail in the room, there was no stone left unturned, Mrs Anya Grealy, Tom, Geraldine and Adrian were there at every beck and call to make sure our day was just perfect.. The extra touches, the personal touches, the kindness and thoughtfulness that they showed us and our guests was just amazing. What makes the Abbey so special is that its family run, Mrs Grealy never stopped the week of the wedding like she does for all weddings, she goes above and beyond and is always behind the scenes working so hard, with incredible attention to detail, a very special thank you to her from us both. To experience it as a bride has just made me appreciate even more the magical little Gem of a hotel we have right on front of us, Perched in the heart of Roscommon town. Here’s what she had to say about her very magical wedding day at the Abbey “We had our ceremony and reception at The Abbey Hotel Roscommon on July 5th 2019. I cannot recommend them enough. Every detail of the day was absolutely perfect. We live in the USA but we knew we wanted to have the ceremony and reception in my Husband’s hometown. We planned our wedding from the USA and so we depended so much on the wedding coordinator and the rest of the Abbey staff. They were absolutely fantastic, made sure that all of our requests were taken care of. We had absolutely no worries on the day and we were able to enjoy to the fullest. All of our friends asked us “how are you so calm?” On the day and it was completely due to the care and attention from the wedding coordinator and the Abbey team. There were so many small details that went into the execution of the day. We were so lucky to have the ceremony outside on the Abbey’/s Beautiful grounds but the whole team was prepared if the weather didn’t cooperate. Everyone was commenting that it was one of the best wedding they had attended. I can’t recommend the Abbey Hotel enough if you want your special day to be absolutely flawless. Elley Tully

‘Planning a wedding from Canada when you want to get married at home in Ireland is not an easy task. Or so I thought before I started doing it! But I was wrong… and this is only because of the amazing wedding co-ordinators and staff at The Abbey Hotel. From the minute we stepped foot inside The Abbey, we knew this is where we wanted to have our wedding. After our initial meeting, everything was through email as we had to go back to Canada. The wedding coordinators always stayed in contact with us and made us feel at ease. We organised EVERYTHING while having the Atlantic Ocean between us – decor, menus, function rooms, times! We even organised the booking of rooms for all of our Canadians guests that were travelling over to be with us on our big day! Not for one moment did I feel worried about this as the girls and booking team were second to none! The Abbey allowed us to do our menu and wine tasting just one week before the wedding! Special treatments like this meant the world to us as we were not able to make it over to Ireland any earlier. On our big day things worked like clockwork. The wedding staff were with us every step of the way and made everything run smoothly. If you have ever dined in The Abbey, you know the food is excellent. It lived up to its reputation on our wedding day also! The charm and the beauty of The Abbey created such a gorgeous backdrop for our pictures (and for the out-of-towners that wanted to bring some beautiful Irish pictures back to Canada!).After our reception, we were left in the capable, friendly and fun hands of the three young bar staff that served us into the early hours of the morning. They ensured the two brides and all of our guests were well looked after!On behalf of my wife and I, we would like to thank everyone in The Abbey Hotel for ensuring our wedding day was the most memorable day in our lives so far. From the beginning, the Grealy family and the wedding planning team instantly became friends to us. Any questions asked were always answered and every request made was granted with no fuss. The day itself was magic. Lisa & Sarah, you were just amazing. You went above and beyond to make sure myself and Fergal were seen to in every way, and to make sure everything was perfect. The ball room looked stunning, the food was just beautiful, every guest was highly complimentary of their meals. I’m sad that our journey with the Abbey Hotel has come to an end, but so thankful for everything you did for us. We celebrated our wedding reception in The Abbey Hotel on 4th September 2021. We cannot thank them enough for everything. Our day was perfect in every way and that was all thanks to Lisa, the wedding co-ordinator, the Grealy family and the staff at The Abbey Hotel. Lisa was amazing through all of the planning and especially through the past 18months with covid. All of the staff at the Abbey Hotel looked after us and our guests so well, especially Jacinta who made sure we had everything we needed. We had our wedding reception in the Abbey Hotel on the 25th September 2021. Our experience with the Abbey when planning our wedding was perfect from start to finish. Lisa was so helpful and attentive when planning every detail from the menu to decor. She took all the stress out of wedding planning. We have had so many compliments from our guests about the service and food on the day. The meal was delicious and served very efficiently. There was no doubt that everyone had plenty of food and was very satisfied with the meal. The room was beautifully decorated with the Abbey candelabras, cherry blossoms and fairy lights and really looked the part. A special thanks to Jacinta and her team for the excellent service, efficiency and lovely, friendly attitude. Thanks also to Tom for overseeing everything; it's not very often you see the owner of a hotel there from start to finish and checking that all the guests were happy with everything. The hotel itself is also a lovely setting and we were able to get very special photographs in the old abbey and on the staircase. We choose the Abbey because from the beginning we felt at ease that everything would be looked after and we wouldn’t have to worry about a thing. We unfortunately like so many couples had to postpone our wedding but the Abbey accommodated us with a new date. It was a difficult time for hotels as well as couples trying to navigate around the ever changing restrictions but Lisa looked after us and all the stress melted away. We enjoyed every minute of our day, everything went off without a hitch thanks to Lisa and all the wonderful staff in the Abbey, including Jacinta and all the staff serving us on the day. The food was superb with smiles all around for each course. We were so impressed with the ballroom that turned out so beautiful. I would highly recommend the Abbey hotel for future couples. "We couldn't recommend the Abbey Hotel highly enough. We got married on Friday, January 3rd so it's still only sinking in but we had an absolutely fabulous day. From initial discussions with Geraldine right through to the big day every aspect of the organising was made so simple and stress free. The run up to the day was made so much easier due to the reassurances from Geraldine along with the wedding coordinators Lisa & Sara and the accommodation of our every need. It was a lovely and relaxed day, which is just what we had hoped for. Everybody was singing the praises of the food especially those who had special requirements... they were really delighted with their meals from start to finish! Every detail was just perfect and we really were over the moon with the day and just had so much fun. The staff who we encountered over the two days of the wedding were so friendly, accommodating and on the ball...I tipped my chair over at one stage and one of the staff had it upright before I could even reach down for it. The bar and function room staff were attentive to every detail and the food was fantastic. Sean was brilliant and ensured that our top table and all of our guests were happy. It's hard to describe how easy and enjoyable it was to deal with the Abbey.. I booked the wedding after meeting Geraldine back in April or May. She was so helpful, kind and had a great idea of what we were looking for. The process from start to finish was so easy. Sarah the wedding coordinator was a dream. So friendly, understanding and helpful. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with. When we walked into the room on Saturday it was breathtaking. It couldn't have been better and bar a few seating problems due to some extra guests, it went off without a hitch. The food was beautiful and everybody had enough. The staff have been so friendly and kind it was just a pleasure to be there. I would do it all over again without a second thought. Thank you so much for giving us the most fantastic day on 6th April. From the moment we had the pleasure of meeting you, you accommodated us in every way. Nothing was too much trouble and our every request was catered for. The attention to detail was second to none, from the drinks reception to table settings and beyond. We had a lot of props that required a lot of set up on the day and Geraldine and her staff listened carefully to what we wanted and set up and displayed everything exactly as we wished. We also have to commend in a special way the Chef, the kitchen personnel and the staff involved in our dinner service. We have received so many compliments from our guests about the food served on the day. The presentation and attention to detail with every dish was amazing. Furthermore the service received from every staff member was impeccable and truly faultless. We cannot recommend the Abbey highly enough. Its staff instils confidence. They are a pleasure to deal with and are so skilled at what they do. Geraldine even emailed us some candid photographs she had taken of us on the day – just like a friend or a family member would do! That personal touch provided by the Abbey is in our opinion why it is so special.

I cannot praise you all enough from the very beginning to the wedding day itself. You were the most amazing group to deal with in every way & I honestly couldn't recommend you enough. The day itself blew me away the food was just out of this world and above all the staff were fantastic and so friendly. “We recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and decided to return to the Abbey where we held our reception. Ten years later and it still remains a wonderful experience. Mr. and Mrs. Murray “We got married on Friday the 2nd March and had our reception was in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon. As Storm Emma descended upon the country and brought Ireland to a standstill, who knew what lay ahead for us on our wedding day. As anxiety and worry set in and the rollercoaster of emotions began, a comforting phone call from our wedding co-ordinator finally brought the tears to a front. Tears of relief on this occasion as the Abbey hotel understood what we must be going through. The Grealy family offered compassion, reassurance, help and assistance in order to make things as easy as possible for us and the situation we were in. Let's not forget that a red weather warning was in place and people were advised to stay indoors and not to leave their homes due to the snow. This however did not stop the Abbey Hotel and their staff showing up to work to prepare and present what can only be described as the first class service we received on our wedding day. The food on the day was superb and more than lived up to the reputation we had heard so often about. We are still receiving compliments to that regard. From the minute we walked through the door to organise our wedding, to the moment we left, the hospitality and professionalism of the Grealy family and their staff shone through.
